Paul van Heerwaarden

Chief Executive Officer

Paul joined Bega in 2009 and was appointed CEO in 2016 following four years as General Manager Sales and Marketing.  Prior to that he was with the Tatura Milk Industries subsidiar

y for three years, initially in the role of Chief Financial Officer and then Executive General Manager.  He has over 30 years experience in agribusiness having worked in senior financial and management positions in Australia and internationally with several agribusinesses including Cargill and Ridley AgriProducts.  Paul has a MBA from Melbourne Business School, a Bachelor of Business from  RMIT and in 2014 completed the Advance Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Pete Findlay

Chief Financial OfficerPete Findlay
Pete is a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer with over 20 years’ experience in translating business strategy into commercial outcomes. His experience has been gained in professional services and senior finance and operational roles across private and publicly owned businesses.  Pete has held several senior CFO roles in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, information technology and distribution.  Pete has led cross functional teams in finance, technology and customer service throughout Asia Pacific, North America and Europe.

Pete holds a Bachelor of Business Accounting Degree and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Colin Griffin

Executive General Manager Contract Manufacturing
Company Secretary

Colin was born in the town of Bega and completed a BA (Accounting) in 1985 and after which he obtained his Chartered Accountant membership in 1998. With a background in auditing and corporate advisory at KPMG, Colin joined the Bega Cheese Limited team as Finance Manager and Company Secretary in 1993.  With 26 years’ experience in the dairy industry, Colin has been a pivotal contributor to the strategic and corporate development of Bega.  Colin has recently transitioned from CFO to lead the Group’s contract manufacturing business.  He is a Director of Tatura Milk Industries and Capitol Chilled Foods.

Adam McNamara

Executive General Manager – Bega Foods
Adam joined Bega Cheese Limited in October 2017 as General Manager Bega Foods.  Adam has more than 20 years’ experience with Campbell Arnott’s and his most recent position was Vice President Sales Asia Pacific.  He has also held the positions of Director of South East Asian Business Development and General Manager – Arnott’s Indonesia.  Prior to these roles he held senior roles in sales, marketing, general management and began his career in finance.  Adam brings a strong leadership focus on developing teams and building relationships with customers and has a Bachelor in Business & Accounting from Monash University and is also CPA qualified.

Antonietta Timms

Executive General Manager – Operational Excellence
Antonietta was appointed Executive General Manager – Operational Excellence in 2018, she joined Bega Cheese through the acquisition of the Mondelez Grocery business.

Antonietta is responsible for the group functions of Safety, Quality, Research, Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement. Antonietta has a proven track record of implementing cultural change through continuous improvement programs and creating sustained value in the supply chain. By engaging and inspiring our suppliers, partners and employees, she is able to deliver outstanding business results.

With over 20 years’ experience in Operations and Supply Chain, Antonietta has held senior roles in a number of global FMCG companies across Australia, Asia and Europe including George Weston Foods and Mars Incorporated.

Antonietta holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from RMIT and a Graduate Certificate of Commerce from Swinburne University.

Mark McDonald

Executive General Manager – Ingredients
Mark joined Bega Cheese Limited in August 2016 as General Manager of Ingredients, and is responsible for the business unit strategy and commercial performance delivery covering milk supply relationships, ingredients development, innovation and manufacture, sales delivery and customer relationships.  Mark is a globally focussed commercial leader, with extensive food and beverage general management and executive experience spanning more than 20 years, previously with Manassen Foods, Murray Goulburn, National Foods/Lion.  Experience includes leading businesses and end to end supply chain, procurement and operations functions focussed on growth and innovation, people leadership and development, global best practice, operational excellence and continuous improvement delivering value creating customer outcomes.  Mark has Australian and international ingredients, commodity and FMCG experience particularly in dairy and also including fresh and dried fruit, baking and deli/dried grocery . Mark holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree and is a Certified Practicing Accountant and has completed a Masters of Business Administration.

Hamish Reid

Executive General Manager – Nutritionals
Hamish was appointed General Manager – Nutritionals in July 2016.  Prior to that he was Business Manager – Nutritionals for six years at Tatura Milk Industries contributing to the significant growth of the business over that period.  Previously Hamish worked in senior marketing and innovation roles with Fonterra in Asia, the Middle East and New Zealand.  Hamish has a MSc from Canterbury University a Diploma in Dairy Science and Technology from Massey University, has completed the Stanford Executive Program and has graduated from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Hamish currently sits on the board of the Infant Nutrition Council of Australia and New Zealand.

David McKinnon

Executive General Manager – Human Resources
David McKinnon is the General Manager Human Resources, and has responsibility for human resources strategy development and execution throughout the company.  Increasing the capability of all leaders within the company, the performance of employees, and increasing talent are the key focuses of David’s human resources leadership.  He is a firm believer that to maximise employee’s contribution at work, employees need role clarity and good leadership.

David joined Bega Cheese Limited in April 2012, and has previously held senior human resources leadership roles with Orica and Mobil Oil Australia and has a Bachelor of Commerce.

Steve Rae

Executive General Manager Strategy
Steve was appointed Executive General Manager Strategy in 2018, following six years in a number of senior finance and strategy roles with Bega. He led the integration of the Mondelez meals acquisition in 2017 and the acquisition and integration of the Peanut Company of Australia in 2018.

He is responsible for Bega’s long term strategic planning processes and to ensure the group’s annual business plans, corporate activities and resources are aligned with strategy.

Prior to that, Steve worked with Lion Nathan Dairy and Drinks for ten years in a variety of commercial and corporate finance roles. He has more than fifteen years’ experience in food manufacturing and FMCG business. Steve holds a Bachelor of Economics (Monash), is a chartered accountant and attended the Stanford Senior Executive Program in 2018.
